Sierra Nevada mountain range is the backdrop of Manzanar is most widely known as the site of one of ten camps where over 110,000 Japanese Americans were unjustly incarcerated during World War II. Many were transported to Mansanar from San Francisco. The foreground is where block houses once stood in which Japanese citizens lived. It was another dark period in American History
